Luke Bryan paid tribute to Elvis Presley in honor of the late legend’s birthday on Monday (January 8). Bryan shared a throwback video from his last night in Las Vegas, where he performed his residency for two years. The award-winning country megastar covered Presley’s 1970 classic, “The Wonder of You.”
“Listened to this over and over as a kid. Fun to do a small clip on my last night in vegas. Happy Birthday Elvis,” Bryan wrote in his caption as he shared the video on his social media channels. Presley would have turned 89 on Monday. He died on August 16, 1977 at age 42.
“And when you smile the world is brighter/ You touch my hand and I'm a king/ Your kiss to me is worth a fortune/ Your love for me is everything/ I guess I'll never know the reason why/ You love me as you do/ That's the wonder/ The wonder of you”
Bryan recently performed his final show at Resorts World Theatre to a sold-out crowd, featuring career-spanning hits — including “That’s My Kind of Night,” “Play It Again,” and “Country Girl (Shake It For Me),” among others — throughout the setlist. He kicked off his residency on February 11, 2022, and has since performed nearly 50 shows on the Vegas stage.
“It is unbelievable that we’ve reached the end of our two-year run at Resorts World Theatre,” Bryan said in a statement. “Las Vegas has been a home away from home the last two years, and I am grateful to all the fans who have joined us night after night to experience this production. This has truly been an experience I’ll never forget.”
