Kane Brown will receive the Country Champion Award at the upcoming 2024 People’s Choice Country Awards in Nashville, Tennessee. The “Thank God” star was selected “for his passion for service and groundbreaking contributions to the country music industry and beyond,” per an announcement issued Friday morning (September 6).

The People’s Choice Country Awards will return for its second year later this month, hosted by iconic singer-songwriter Shania Twain at the Grand Ole Opry house. Brown, who will receive the honor previously awarded to Wynonna Judd, is also nominated in several major categories, including the coveted People’s Artist of 2024 award. Miranda Lambert was also recently revealed as an early award recipient. She was selected to receive the Country Icon Award, which was awarded to Toby Keith last year.

“Since the beginning of his career, Kane Brown has ensured that his legacy will extend beyond music,” said Jen Neal, Executive Vice President, Live Events and Specials, NBCUniversal Entertainment. “His dedication to empowering and supporting younger generations is nothing short of inspiring, and we’re thrilled to honor him with the Country Champion Award.”

Brown is currently on his headlining “In The Air Tour,” titled after his Phil Collins-related single, “I Can Feel It.” The anthem is one of his latest releases, in addition to “Fiddle in the Band,” “Georgia on My Mind” and “Miles On It” with Marshmello. His latest full-length album is Different Man, which arrived in September 2022. The 17-track album included “Bury Me in Georgia,” “Like I Love Country Music,” “Grand,” “On Mississippi” and other highlights, in addition to the award-winning duet with wife Katelyn Brown, “Thank God.”

The People’s Choice Country Awards will air live on Thursday, September 26 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on NBC and Peacock. See the full list of nominees here.
