Kelsea Ballerini said sheâs sending âhealing thoughtsâ to her dog, Dibs, who is âbeing the strongest boyâ amid his ongoing cancer battle.
Ballerini shared a sweet photo with Dibs in an Instagram post on Thursday evening (March 20). On her story, she wrote: âDibby had another round of chemo today and is being the strongest boy. I get to see him in two weeks and until then spend every day spending healing thoughts his way. I appreciate yâall checking in on him and giving him love more than you know. đ¤â
The Patterns star, who is currently traveling the West Coast on her first headlining arena tour, announced in late August that Dibs had been diagnosed with inoperable cancer in his heart. She said at that time that Dibs was ânot in pain, and luckily it hasnât spread further. âŚItâs a complex and emotional time. Heâs been my baby and my steady for the last 9 years and very much alongside this whole journey with us all. I know so many of you care about him and are sending him prayers and love, and from my whole heart⌠thank you. Heâs wagging his tail right now no doubt saying thank you, too.â
Ballerini has shared a few health updates over the last several months since opening up about Dibsâ diagnosis. In early December, the singer-songwriter said on her Instagram story in response to a question from a fan that her âsweet boy had another round of chemo today and is hanging tough. Truthfully, his original prognosis was 4 months. That was 4 months ago, but heâs still steady and happy, so every day is a gift and Iâm a little extra grateful we get the holidays together this year. đ¤â
Balleriniâs next show on her tour is set for Friday evening (March 21) at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California. Special guests Sasha Alex Sloan, Ashe, The Japanese House and MaRynn Taylor are joining Ballerini on select stops. See the list of tour dates here.
